Texaco is a historic American petroleum company founded in 1901 in Beaumont, Texas. Originally known as the Texas Fuel Company, it became the Texas Company in 1902 and adopted the name Texaco Inc. in 1959. Over the years, Texaco expanded from a regional oil producer to one of the largest oil companies globally, with operations in the United States, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia.
Texaco's core business includes the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, refining operations, and marketing and distribution of petroleum products. The company has been a pioneer in oil field development, notably in the Middle East, and operates refineries that process crude oil into gasoline and diesel. Texaco also markets its products through a network of service stations and has introduced well-known brands like Havoline motor oil and Fire Chief gasoline. The company serves a diverse customer base, including individual motorists, commercial vehicle operators, and industrial clients. In 2001, Texaco was acquired by Chevron Corporation, further enhancing its presence in the oil industry.
