Areva was a French multinational company that specialized in nuclear power and related energy sectors from 2001 until around 2018. Headquartered in Courbevoie, France, it was formed by merging three major companies: Framatome, Cogema, and Technicatome. Areva aimed to consolidate France�s nuclear industry and provided comprehensive nuclear services worldwide, operating in over 100 countries and employing about 75,000 people at its peak.

The company�s operations covered the entire nuclear fuel cycle, including uranium mining, fuel conversion and enrichment, reactor design and construction, and recycling of used nuclear fuel. Areva also developed renewable energy technologies, such as wind, solar, and bioenergy solutions. Its core products included advanced nuclear reactors, nuclear fuel assemblies, and waste management solutions. Areva served a global customer base, primarily national utilities and governments, and secured significant contracts for major nuclear projects, including the Olkiluoto 3 plant in Finland.
