Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is the national oil refining company of Kuwait, established in October 1960. As a fully state-owned subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, KNPC manages the country's downstream oil and gas operations. This includes overseeing major refineries such as Mina Al-Ahmadi, Mina Abdullah, and the Al-Zour refinery, along with gas liquefaction plants and the distribution of petroleum products.
KNPC operates two main refineries with a combined capacity of approximately 736,000 barrels per day. The company processes natural gas to produce liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and other products for both domestic use and export. It also manages a network of 61 petrol filling stations across Kuwait and operates five ports for exporting refined products. KNPC is involved in significant projects like the Clean Fuels Project, aimed at producing cleaner fuels and expanding refining capacity. The company is committed to operational excellence, safety, and environmental responsibility while supporting education and training in the industry.
