Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is a state-owned integrated oil and gas company established in 1980. It oversees Kuwait's petroleum sector by managing the country's extensive hydrocarbon resources, which include the third largest oil reserves in the world, estimated at about 96.5 billion barrels. KPC was formed by merging several key oil-related entities, consolidating Kuwait's upstream and downstream operations under one organization.
KPC operates across the entire oil and gas value chain. It conducts exploration and production through the Kuwait Oil Company, manages refining operations via the Kuwait National Petroleum Company, and produces petrochemical products through the Petrochemical Industries Company. KPC markets crude oil internationally and manages fuel retailing within Kuwait. Additionally, the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company handles the transportation of crude oil and refined products globally. KPC is committed to meeting both domestic and international energy demands, including a long-term liquefied natural gas supply agreement with QatarEnergy.
