The North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) is the operator for hydrocarbon exploration, development, and production in the North Caspian Sea under the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement. Established in 2009 and based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, NCOC manages the Kashagan oil field, one of the largest offshore oil projects in the world, along with the Kairan and Aktoty fields.
NCOC focuses on safe and environmentally responsible operations in a challenging offshore environment. The company oversees the entire production lifecycle, from exploration to production management, and emphasizes stringent safety and environmental standards. Its primary product is crude oil, with significant production milestones achieved since the Kashagan field's start-up in 2016. NCOC is a consortium of seven major international energy companies, contributing to Kazakhstan's energy sector and socio-economic development through stable oil production. The company employs a diverse workforce, combining local talent with international expertise to support its large-scale operations.
