Orano is a French multinational company focused on the nuclear fuel cycle, operating across all stages of nuclear fuel production and management. Established in 1976 and rebranded in 2017, Orano is majority-owned by the French state and is headquartered in Paris. The company is recognized as the third largest uranium producer globally, with significant mining operations in Canada, Kazakhstan, Niger, and Namibia.

Orano's services include uranium mining, conversion, enrichment, spent fuel recycling, and radioactive waste management. It operates the Georges Besse II enrichment plant, the largest in Europe, and is developing a major facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The company also leads in reprocessing used nuclear fuel at its La Hague and Melox plants. Additionally, through its subsidiary Orano Med, it develops innovative cancer therapies that combine biotechnology and nuclear technology. Orano serves a diverse range of customers in the nuclear industry, emphasizing collaboration with local communities and sustainability in its operations.
