Petro Rabigh, also known as Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company, is a Saudi Arabian joint venture established in 2005 between Saudi Aramco and Japan�s Sumitomo Chemical. The company operates one of the largest integrated refining and petrochemical complexes in the world, located in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. It has a refining capacity of about 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day and processes 1.6 million tons of ethane annually.
The company produces over 25 petroleum and petrochemical products, including various fuels and key petrochemicals like ethylene, propylene, and polyethylene. Petro Rabigh is notable for being the first producer of propylene oxide in the Middle East and is a leading producer of polypropylene and polyethylene in the region. With 37 production plants, the company is committed to sustainability and energy efficiency, adhering to high technical standards. It serves diverse industrial sectors, supplying products for automotive, packaging, construction, and more, with markets extending across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and East Asia.
