Petrotrin, officially known as the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, was a state-owned integrated oil and gas company established on January 21, 1993. It was formed through the merger of two state-owned companies and expanded by acquiring Trinmar Operations in 2000. Petrotrin engaged in the full spectrum of petroleum operations, including exploration, development, production, refining, and marketing of various petroleum products.

The company operated the Pointe--Pierre refinery, the only refinery in the Caribbean, with a capacity of approximately 190,000 barrels per day. Petrotrin's product offerings included gasoline, diesel fuel, natural gas, lubricating oils, and paraffins. It played a crucial role in meeting domestic energy needs and supplying refined products to the Caribbean market. The company also partnered with foreign multinational oil companies for exploration and production activities, reflecting its strategic importance to Trinidad and Tobago's energy sector.
