SJVN Limited, formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, is a leading Indian public sector company focused on hydroelectric power generation and transmission. Established in 1988 as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, SJVN is headquartered in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. It is recognized as the largest operational hydroelectric power generation company in India, with an installed capacity of approximately 1972 MW from major plants like Nathpa Jhakri, Rampur, and Naitwar Mori.

In addition to hydroelectric power, SJVN has expanded into renewable energy, with wind power capacity of about 97.6 MW and solar power capacity of around 396.9 MW. The company also engages in power transmission, power trading, and consultancy services related to power project planning and execution. SJVN operates across multiple Indian states and has ongoing projects in Nepal and Bhutan, reflecting its commitment to enhancing energy infrastructure and supporting renewable energy initiatives in the region.
