The Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) is a global, not-for-profit organization that supports professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry. Established in 1957, SPE has grown to over 127,000 members in 145 countries, including a significant number of student members. The organization focuses on facilitating the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices in oil and natural gas exploration, development, and production.

SPE offers a range of resources, including OnePetro, a digital library with over 314,000 technical papers, and PetroWiki, an industry-specific knowledge resource.
