The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is a federal government-owned electric utility established in 2005 and headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. It was formed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of electricity transmission following the unbundling of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). TCN is responsible for transmitting bulk electric power from generation companies to distribution companies across Nigeria and also supplies power to neighboring countries, including Niger, Benin, and Togo, as part of the West African Power Pool initiative.

TCN operates and maintains the national transmission grid, which includes high voltage substations that manage electricity from generation sites to distribution networks. It holds licenses for electricity transmission, system operation, and electricity trading issued by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission. TCN's mission is to transmit electricity efficiently, and its vision is to become a leading electricity transmission company globally. The company emphasizes core values such as integrity, transparency, and customer focus in its operations.
